UK General Election 2024

The UK General election will take place on Thursday 4th July 2024, between 07:00am and 10:00pm. We have put this short guide together to help you get registered to vote or find out key information that you may need.


Important deadlines for the Westminster Election on 4th July:

:writing_hand: Register to vote: 18 June at 11:59PM.

📮 Apply for a postal vote: 19 June at 5PM.

📄 Voter Authority Certificate applications (Free option for those needing Voter ID): 26 June at 5PM.

  Polls open: 4th July from 7AM until 10PM.


It is important that you bring a valid form of ID with you on Polling day or you will not be allowed to vote. We previously wrote about how Westminster has introduced new Voter ID laws that could supress Scotland's voice.
