How Are Believe in Scotland Funded

Believe in Scotland is predominantly funded by approximately 15,000 individual micro-donations annually. This includes monthly Stakeholder Memberships when're members pay a minimum of £5.00 per month. We have also run four successful crowdfunder campaigns in 2021,2022, 2023 and 2024. Ticket sales from events such as our Creating Scotland Burns Celebration (see image above) and also sales of Scotland the Brief and merchandise to independence supporting public.  

Business for Scotland Ltd, a leading business network uniquely consisting only of supporters of Scottish independence, provides the staff, premises, financial management, strategy and direction for the Believe in Scotland campaign. Business for Scotland Ltd received the highest “A” rating for its financial transparency from Open Democracy’s Who Funds You? Project. Business for Scotland campaigned for a Yes vote, led the business and economic case and was the highest spending Registered Campaign Group (on either side) in the 2014 independence referendum.  The Electoral Commission stated that Business for Scotland set the gold standard for reporting and transparency during that referendum.  

Neither Believe in Scotland nor Business for Scotland has ever received, asked for, nor donated to any political party and never will.
