National Day of Action August
Saturday, August 22, 2026 at 10:00 AM
On Saturday 22nd August, Believe in Scotland is asking every Yes group across Scotland and our members to get out campaigning in their local area on the same day.
Let's be independence ambassadors and make sure we’re seen and heard in our communities, especially by those who are undecided.
Focus for the day: Demanding the Scottish peoples right to choose Scotland's future
This National Day of Action will be the first big national push for our new The Celtic Exit has Begun leaflet which we will have delivered on 3 Indy campaign days prior to 22nd of August.Â
What can local groups do?
The main aim is to get out in your community and push the message that Scotland demands the right to choose its future but if your group also wants to do something alongside this, that’s great too. For example:
-
Holding a street stall focused on energy and independence
-
Organising an Indy leaflet drive or door drop
-
Doing a litter pick as a group, wearing Yes badges or T‑shirts
-
Flags on bridges, creative visuals or any activity that gets your group out and seen
The key is to be visible, positive and approachable and to focus on connecting with people outside the core Yes movement. Let’s just get out there.
Online and offline together
Believe in Scotland is currently coordinated online campaign initiatives to amplify the message across the country, the two highlights of this so far have been our social media reach of 4 million people over the last couple months and our action petition which when signed emails elected representatives and the UK Prime Minister demanding Scotland's right to choose. Together we can make a real impact
The National Day of Action on 22 August is a chance to show that the independence movement is alive and kicking and that the UK is living on borrowed time.
Let’s make it count - Let’s get out, be visible and make the case for independence together
